VALLEY FORGE, PA (July 18, 2017)— Vanguard today celebrated the official opening of the firm’s previously announced Innovation Studio in Center City with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the 2300 Chestnut Street location. Vanguard CEO Bill McNabb and Lisha Davis, head of the Innovation Studio, were joined by local government officials and representatives from the region's academic, innovation, and business communities, including John Grady, president of Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), and Brian Sims, Pennsylvania State Representative. The Vanguard Innovation Studio will focus on new ways to serve current and future client needs.
“Philadelphia is a perfect place for Vanguard to foster new ideas and develop creative approaches,” said Mr. McNabb. “The vibrancy of the area that we’ve called home for more than 40 years now has a thriving ecosystem of premier higher education institutions, leading tech entrepreneurs, investors, and other public and private partners with which we look forward to partnering to reap the tremendous resources of our region.”
The Vanguard Innovation Studio is located between University City and Market Street West, within walking distance to 30th Street Station and in proximity to other regional transportation hubs. The 16,000 square foot, newly renovated space spans two floors of a historic building and features large windows and other rustic and industrial elements. The open concept office can accommodate up to 100 employees and external partners as projects require, and will be dedicated solely to project work.
“At the heart of innovation is the spirit of collaboration, experimentation, iteration. Many of the inventions we have come to love and depend on went through hundreds of versions before their creator got them right,” said Ms. Davis. “The Vanguard Innovation Studio will foster greater creativity, agility, and speed towards the way we uncover and solve problems for our clients, in a human centered way.”
